Yarntainer

What's a Yarntainer?

Yarntainers were born out of the frustration of ruined yarns. No matter how I tried to keep my yarn free flowing in a knitting bag or purse, or take it along on trips, it always seemed to catch on something and failed to dispense effortlessly and cleanly. With the cost of our favorite fragile yarns, this is an expensive problem.

Several months ago I made a few prototypes of what would soon be the Yarntainer and used them in various knitting circles. Without exception, knitters wanted to know where they could get one. Some were hesitant and felt the use of a plastic container would change the feel of their knitting. It didn’t. After using them, a comment expressed over and over was "I enjoy knitting more with them ".

Yarntainer is a product for a modern market wanting a more tangle free mobile knitting experience. Since I have begun selling Yarntainers I have had nothing but positive feedback. Our introductory sales to a yarn store located in Utah and California have been met with great success.

The purpose of the Yarntainer is to isolate yarn from everyday contaminants by holding it in a rigid clear container. The rubber grommet provides the best drawing environment for a tangle free project. The Yarntainer comes in various sizes and will transport without breaking in a bag or purse.

Fill it with yarn, circular needles and a pattern for a great gift idea. The optional removable handle, transforms the Yarntainer into its own carrying case and works nicely for storage. In no way does using a plastic container detract from the tactile feel of the knitting experience. Rather, you knit knowing your yarn will dispense freely and there will be no problems-even when traveling

Testimonials:
"Yarntainer -This handy yarn container (clever name Yarntainer is, no?) is simply the coolest, most useful crochet-related accessory I've come across to date. Available in three sizes, the clear plastic vessel holds yarn, hooks, notions, etc. The flip-top lid has a rubber-rimmed hole in the middle through which you feed your yarn. Presto! No more yarn balls rolling all over the floor. No more pets and kids tangling up your projects. It's especially useful if you're working with more than one strand of yarn at a time. I've worked with four strands, including novelty, and my enduring sanity thanks me for it. The Yarntainer has a handy handle, which means you can just grab your project and go. It'll sit quietly at your feet in the car (when you're a passenger, not a driver, of course), rest patiently beside you on the couch, and pretty soon you'll forget you ever got a headache from trying to keep your yarn tame. It's a yarn tamer, this Yarntainer. And it's just fun to say "Yarntainer." Try it." - http://www.crochetme.com

Hi Deborah,

We met at the Fiber Arts Market in Burbank a couple of weekends ago, and I've been meaning to drop you a line. I picked up a medium-sized Yarntainer while there, and must tell you how much I LOVE it. I'm currently making a baby sweater that involves working with up to four strands of yarn at a time, and I had been pulling my hair out until it occurred to me to put them all into the Yarntainer. Now I don't have to worry about keeping the yarn from getting tangled or from falling on the floor. It's saving me time, and more importantly it's saving me from pulling my hair out! My husband rolls his eyes at me, because every time I pull out some yarn I get this ga-ga look on my face and can't help exclaiming, "I love my Yarntainer!" In all seriousness, I've never come across a crochet/knitting accessory that has given me more joy.

Cheers,
Kim
